PARTICIPATING/SUPPORTING SUSTAINABILITY
WE ARE SO FORTUNATE TO PARTICIPATE IN A LOCAL SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY/EVENT πππΏ
Yesterday, Garcia Bread Co. had the opportunity to participate in an annual event that supports local farms and ranches, and encourages sustainability for the 1st time π We were honored to have been asked to participate in this local event (since we support local farmers/growers and feature sustainable ingredients in our products) and had the best time!
We participated in the annual PlacerGROWN Farm and Barn tour and were stationed at Millertown Sheep Farm in Auburn: Here are some of the activities that took place:

We participated in the annual PlacerGROWN Farm and Barn tour and were stationed at Millertown Sheep Farm in Auburn: Here are some of the activities that took place:
Millertown Sheep Farm
- Farm Tour
- Farm Demos
- Defensible Space Discussion
- Farm Animals – sheep, mini donkey & goats
- Children’s Activities
- Lamb Meat Sales
- Placer Arts Activity Center
- Willy’s BBQ Sauce Company
- Garcia Bread Company
Families from all over came to visit and learned about sheep, donkeys (who I almost took home with me), and chickens. They got to pet and play with them and get up close and personal and see how a sustainable farm works. We served hot coffee and our signature all natural, healthy muffins featuring all fresh ingredients which were a hit!
We got to connect with other small businesses in the community and spend some time ourselves on a local farm which was priceless!
Whenever you can, I encourage you to talk to your Farmers/Growers at Farmers Markets or even better, visit their farm/ranch and see up close how their animals are raised or crops are grown. When you see first hand where your food comes from and the sustainable practices involved, you'll see how important eating sustainably and locally is for the producers and the consumers π
